Product Features and Details
Every once in a while, a model comes along that is simply remarkable in every aspect. This has been a pattern for REE Modeles from France, their models are just incredible, we consider them among the best production models on the market today. In 1955, The French electric locomotive class CC7107 pulling three specially designed coaches set a new world speed record reaching an incredible speed of 331kmh or 206 MPH. This world speed record stood for 50 years until finally being superseded in 2006 by the Siemens Taurus locomotive. The CC7100s were incredible locomotives and used in passenger and freight service for nearly 50 years by the SNCF. They served until 2001, some having reached the 6-million-mile mark.
REE's new set is incredible and very limited, only 840 were produced worldwide. Set comes in a very attractive blue box with the world record locomotive class CC7107, three passenger cars, certificate of authenticity and a metal plaque with 331 kilometers engraved. The locomotive in the set is a highly-detailed masterpiece every bit as good as a brass model, it features 400 individual parts. 3D scanning was used to capture every detail of the prototype. Of special note are the intricate boogies, digitally operated pantographs and unique design. Loco is also equipped with sprung buffers, NEM close coupler pockets, and illuminated cab interiors which include illuminated dashboards. Locomotive features a 21 pin ESU 4.0 factory installed sound decoder a powerful Cannon motor with two large flywheels which power all 6 axles.; two with traction tires which can be exchanged for non-traction-tire wheel sets. We recommend a minimum 22-inch radius curve or large for optimal performance. Ree Modeles replicated the aerodynamic cab just like the prototype, you will notice that one cab is recessed and aerodynamic just like the prototype. The aerodynamic cab connected to the coach so the train produced less wind resistance, you will also notice that the rear coach was very aerodynamic and shaped like a bullet. All the coaches had streamlining modifications to reduce aerodynamic drag, the whole train was designed for speed and to achieve its goal of beating the world speed record. REE's world record train is very impressive and very limited. Many model train enthusiasts like to collect high speed trains like the TGV's and ICE trains, this train set is very collectible because it represents the beginning of high speed rail. This set is incredible and must be seen in-hand to be appreciate
